Stay in Boulogne-Billancourt: Enjoy our calm and intimate borough
Boulogne-Billancourt is located on the West side of Paris. The city is one the major economic centre of the Ile de France area. The city benefits from the most important architectural legacy of the 1930s in France.
The culture spots in Boulogne-Billancourt are quite unknown but still very interesting.
The Museum of the 1930s: A unique place, allowing us to travel in an exceptional era through wonderful collections and artefacts, including the original model of the Christ Redeemer statue, Mount Corcovado, Rio. The Roaring Twenties, Art Deco, and Modernism are famous movements you will have the pleasure to discover and follow throughout the museum. 28 André-Morizet Street, 92100 Boulogne Billancourt. Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm. Closed on Mondays and during public holidays.
The Albert Khan Museum and Gardens: A collection of seven landscaped gardens that evokes the four corners of the world and presents the archives of the Planet (largest collection). 10 street du Port 92100 Boulogne Billancourt - Metro station: Pont de Saint Cloud. Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm from the 1st of October to the 30th of April and from 11 am to 7 pm from the 1st of May to the 30th of September. Closed on Mondays and during public holidays.
The Renault Museum: To discover the history of Renault cars. 27 rue des Abondances 92100 Boulogne Billancourt - Metro station: Porte de Saint Cloud. Open from Tuesday to Thursday from 2 pm to 6 pm. Closed in August. Need to book in advance for groups from 10 to 40 persons.
The Belmondo Museum: Museum dedicated to the works of the sculptor Paul Belmondo and figurative sculpture of the Twentieth Century. 14 Abreuvoir Street, 92100 Boulogne-Billancourt - Métro Saint Cloud. Open from Tuesday to Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm and Saturday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm. Closed on Mondays and during public holidays.
LEGACY OF CHINA :
A unique Chinese sculpture in Boulogne!
Sun Yat Sen (1866-1925), the first President of the Republic of China, is considered the Father of Modern China (succeeding the QING dynasty). China became the first democracy of Asia in 1912. Sun Yat Sen bases his political philosophy on the following three principles: nationalism, democracy and well-being.
Paul Landowski, famous French sculptor who lived in Boulogne-Billancourt from 1906 until his death in 1961, was chosen by the Chinese Central Committee to make the gigantic statue (4.6 m high) of the mausoleum of Sun Yat Sen in Nanjing. The model of this sculpture is in the Museum of the Thirties - Esapce Paul Landowski. 28 André-Morizet Street in Boulogne-Billancourt.
Deng Xiapoing : Did you know? The famous Chinese Deng Xiaoping worked in Boulogne-Billancourt in the Renault factories.
Deng Xiaoping was the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party from 1956 to 1967, then the number one of the People's Republic of China from 1978 to 1992. After officially retiring from political affairs, he remained a reference for the regime until his death.
Deng Xiaoping is generally considered as the origin of the economic development of China.
Few do know this: Deng Xiaoping spent part of his youth in France from 1920 to 1925. During this period, he worked in Boulogne as a worker at the Renault factory in 1925.
BOULOGNE STADIUMS :
The Alpha Paris Eiffel hotel is located a stone's throw from the main Paris Stadiums.
The Seine Musical: located on the Seguin Island in Boulogne, this national and international music complex with its admirable architecture has a concert hall and an auditorium allowing it to host concerts, musicals and ballets. Join the Ile Seguin by metro, line 9, from Marcel Sembat station to Pont de Sèvres station.
Parc des Princes: Paris Saint-Germain's emblematic stadium (PSG), the Parc des Princes hosts matches of the Championnat de France when PSG plays at home, European Cup matches but also concerts by topFrench and international artists. From the Alpha Hotel, you can easily reach the Parc des Princes within a 10 minutes walk.
Roland Garros: since 1927, the Roland Garros stadium has been temple of international clay court tennis. The stadium stages one of the Grand Slam tennis tournaments : the French Open. Over two weeks, top international tennis stars play on the famous clay courts of Roland Garros. The Alpha Hotel is pleased to welcome you just 15 minutes’ walk from the Roland Garros stadium.
Pierre de Coubertin Stadium: The Coubertin stadium hosts annual sporting events such as the World fencing championships, the Open GDF Suez de tennis and the Badminton French Open. Hotel Alpha is a 12 minutes walk from the stadium entrance.

Right bank tour: A great walking tour of Paris, not to miss anything of the capital's secrets. Join the Arc de Triomphe by crossing Parc Monceau. In the distance you will see the Obelisk from the Place de la Concorde. Join it by going down the famous Avenue des Champs Elysées with its luxury shops, restaurants, cinemas and luxury hotels. During your walk you will pass in front of Avenue Montaigne, the most luxurious avenue in the capital, and the Grand Palais and its magnificent nave, the largest glass roof in Europe. The Elysée Palace is on the left sidewalk. Then cross the Tuileries park and its famous Pyramid of the Louvre. Finally, walk along the quays to Île de la Cité.
A good walk in Paris: Paris offers a large number of interesting itineraries. Follow the waterways: the banks of the Seine, of course, but also the Saint Martin Canal or the old route of the Strasbourg railway. Enjoy a moment of relaxation in one of the capital's green spaces: the Luxembourg Gardens, Buttes-Chaumont, Parc Montsouris or Parc Georges Brassens. For its history and architecture, take a walk in the famous Saint-Germain des Prés district and towards the Saint-Sulpice Church.
Montmartre: Visit the heights of Montmartre and its cobblestone streets. One of the most authentic neighbourhoods of the capital! From the metro station Anvers, walk up the street Steikerke. You will stand face to the famous Basilica of the Sacred Heart that overlooks Paris. You will have the choice to choose to climb the hill by stairs or thanks to the funicular. At the top of the hill you will enjoy breath-taking views of Paris.

Montmartre: Visit the heights of Montmartre and its cobblestone streets. One of the most authentic neighbourhoods of the capital! From the metro station Anvers, walk up the street Steikerke. You will stand face to the famous Basilica of the Sacred Heart that overlooks Paris. You will have the choice to choose to climb the hill by stairs or thanks to the funicular. At the top of the hill you will enjoy breath taking views of Paris. Join the Place du Tertre on the left of the Basilica: traditional restaurants, painters and accordionists will immerse you in the mood of the famous movie Amélie Poulain. Walk down the cobbled streets and countless stairs. Montmartre cemetery, located not far away, hosts the graves of many famous figures such as Stendhal, Zola, Gustave Moreau, Michel Bergé or Dalida.
The Champs Elysées: Only the Champs Elysees section from the "Place de la Concorde" to the "Grand Palais" deserves its nickname of "most beautiful avenue in the world". The rest of the avenue is lined with shops and restaurants. Try the side streets. Do not forget to visit the Arc de Triomphe at the top of the avenue, built in the mid-eighteenth century to commemorate Napoleon's victories. Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily from April to October, and 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. every day from November to March.
Notre Dame de Paris: Construction began in the year 1163, and was completed 200 years later, around 1345. The cathedral can accommodate over 6,000 worshipers. Admission is free, of course, but if you want to climb the tower, it will cost €6. The architects had not installed an elevator, so people with heart problems should abstain from taking the path of heaven ... Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. daily. Guide tours: 9:30 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. daily. Masses: 8:00, 9:00, noon, 6:45 p.m.
The Eiffel Tower: The "Iron Lady" of Paris was built for the 1889 World's Fair, which commemorated the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. The Tower is 324 metres tall. Daily from June 21st to September 2nd from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 a.m. to the rest of the year from 9:30 a.m to 11:45 p.m (for athletics types the stairways are open from 9:30 am to 6: 30 p.m.)
PARISIAN MUSEUMS :
(Re) discover the masterpieces of the Impressionist painters at the Orsay Museum: Manet, Degas, Courbet, Renoir...
National art and culture centre Georges Pompidou: Also known as "Beaubourg", this great original building offers a modern art collection and houses one of the three biggest collections of modern and contemporary art in the world. It also welcomes temporary exhibitions and offers restaurants, a cinema and show halls. The first European Public Library is located on several floors in the building. You may also enjoy breath-taking views of Paris on the last floor. Open from 11:00am to 9:00pm. Closed on Tuesdays.
Louvre Museum: Certainly one of the most mythical places in Paris, The Louvre Museum with the famous Pyramid in the heart of Paris offers a collection of art and exceptional antique. With 60,600 m2 and more than 460,000 art works including the famous paintings of Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, the Louvre Museum is considered as one of the greatest museums in the world. Open from 9:00 am to 6:00pm. Nocturnes on Wednesdays and Fridays until 9:45 pm Closed on Tuesdays.
Orsay Museum: Located in the former Orsay Train Station, the museum is located on the Left Bank of Paris (7th district) and houses the largest collection of impressionist and post-impressionist master pieces in the world. Orsay Museum also presents the Western Art from 1848 to 1914 with sculptures, paintings, decorative arts, graphics and photographs. 4,000 works are on permanent display. Open from 9.30am to 6pm and until 9.45pm on Thursday. Closed on Mondays.
